Jody Danner Walker - Instructor

DATES: April 21-23, 2017

3 Day workshop, $795

TIME: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

All tools, supplies, firings, lunches included.

If you're new to enamels, this is your opportunity to learn a whole new way of painting on glass. If you have previous experience with enamels, but want to learn to do more with them, then this is your chance to develop and expand your ability to use enamels in fused glass. We'll work with Sunshine Enamels, a premium line of enamels made for glass painting. Not only will you learn to mix enamels properly, you'll learn to combine colors to make new ones, to paint onto glass, and to fire enamels in the kiln so that they mature to their brilliant full potential. Once we have the basics down, we'll begin working on single layer pieces.

We are so excited to welcome Paul Messink as one of our 2017 Glass Master workshops. His work is amazing!

DATES: October 6-9, 2017

4 Day workshop, $795

TIME: 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM

All tools, supplies, firings, lunches included.

In this 4-day workshop, students will learn how to apply enamel to glass layers, and then stack and fuse these layers into solid panels. Topics covered include design and image selection, layout, discussion of enamels and how they respond to fusing temperatures, painting medium, how to mix and apply enamels, fusing schedules, bubble control, kiln loading instructions, and finishing techniques.
Although drawing and painting experience is helpful, it is not required. Prior fusing experience is required, however.  Students will complete several initial exercises, plus 2 additional projects during this class, and are encouraged to choose and bring to the class printed images for compositions they would like to use for these projects.
Important image selection guidelines will be
provided prior to class.

A 50% deposit is required to hold your spot for this workshop.
A 5% discount of $79.50 will be given if taking both classes and paying deposit on both.
The balance due is required 30 days before the workshop’s first day.
A refund will only be given if you cancel your spot AND your spot can be replaced.
If you have an emergency and are unable to attend,
we will do our best to work with you to resolve the matter.
In the unlikely event that American cancels the class, you will receive a full refund.
