Each kiln in the Paragon 82 series is large enough for most ceramic projects. Figured at cost per cubic foot, they are among Paragon’s lowest priced hobby kilns. They use the same circuit size as most of the studio kilns. Upgrade to a larger kiln later without having to install a new circuit. These kilns features a top row of blank wall bricks. Since the brick is without element grooves, it is less susceptible to damage during loading than a grooved brick. The TnF-82 is made of 2½” thick firebrick in the lid, walls and bottom. They are designed for low-fire ceramics, china paint, decals and gold. For porcelain and stoneware, select a kiln made of 3” firebrick, as are the 82-3 kilns. A heavy galvanized steel base covers the reversible brick bottom completely. It folds up under the stainless case on all sides to strengthen the firing chamber. This is one more assurance that your Paragon kiln is built to last.

The 10-sided 24 comes in standard 2½” thick sidewalls and lid. The bottom is 3” thick. For porcelain or stoneware, order from the 23-3 or 24-3 series, rated to 2350°F. Since the 24 studio kiln uses 2½” wall brick, we recommend it for low-fire ware, not for porcelain and stoneware. The kilns designated with a “-3” come with deluxe 3” thick sidewalls, lid and bottom. The 3” brick is 20% thicker than the standard 2½” brick. The massive lid is easy to lift with Paragon's patented “LiteLid,” which does away with cumbersome pulleys and cords and reduces lid weight to only several pounds of pressure. Most people can lift the lid with one hand. Unlike pulleys and weights, the LiteLid is self-contained on the kiln. No need to drill holes in the ceiling for pulleys. The LiteLid sharply reduces wear between the lid and top rim of firebrick. The truss and floating lid allow expansion of the lid. Ask competitors if their lid spring includes a truss and floating lid. The 24” wide stand for 10 & 12-sided kilns supports the brick bottom with framing that is 4½” wide across the top of each side. The stand accommodates the Orton Vent Master. The stand is rock-steady, with 16-gauge frame and heavy 12-gauge legs. Other Features

The TnF-27-3 is easier to load than the deeper studio kilns. It is only 22¼” deep, yet larger inside than the 29” deep 10-sided 24-series kilns.
You can separate the kiln bottom and two sections to repair bricks, change elements, or to move the kiln down narrow stairwells or through the narrowest doorways. Twist-lock spring latches hold the assembled collars securely.
The massive, 12-sided Paragon digital TnF-27-3 kiln is a profit center of the busy ceramic studio. It eats up stacks of low-fire ware as well as porcelain and stoneware. It is rated to a full cone 10. At a cost per cubic foot, the TnF-27-3 is one of the most economically priced standard kilns we make.
The 24” wide stand for the TnF-27-3 kiln supports the brick bottom with framing that is 4½” wide across the top of each side. The stand is rock-steady, with 16-gauge frame and heavy 12-gauge legs.

Viking 27 - Plenty of Power
All Vikings are digital. As with our standard TnF top-loading studio kilns, they feature the Sentry 12-key digital temperature controller, easy access switch box, pinless elements, and the LiteLid counter-balance spring system. But in addition, they come with built-in high amperage fuses, and heavy-duty mercury relays instead of our standard mechanical relays. Industrial mercury relays far outlast the standard mechanical relays and are also quieter.
The Viking-27 has power to spare with 14,400 watts. The extra wattage helps compensate for aging elements or low voltage. This is ample power to reach cone 10 and, if you ever need it, to fire rapidly. Elements last longer, because the extra wattage and thicker 3" firebricks help the elements reach porcelain and stoneware temperatures without strain. Since the kiln can fire stoneware, it can naturally handle low-fire ceramics with ease.

The TnF-28-3, 12-sided kiln now features sectional construction. Separate the kiln bottom and sections to repair bricks, change elements, or to move the kiln down narrow stairwells or through the narrowest doorways. Twist-lock spring latches hold the assembled collars securely.
The top row of brick in the TnF-28-3 is 2” high and without element grooves. It is less susceptible to damage during loading than a grooved brick. We have upgraded the TnF-28-3 kiln to 48 amps. With beefier elements, it fires to temperature with less strain. It is rated to 2150°F, ideal for low-fire ware.
